Nandi Hills, Chikkaballapur Overview

Nandi Hills is located about 10 km south of Chikballapur off the state highway 74. It takes about 7 km more to reach the top of the hill from the base.

The plateau on the top houses a botanical garden and serves a good viewing point to observe the scenic beauty around the hill range. Nandi Hill is also known as Nandidurga fort because of the fort built by the ruler Tipu Sultan Attractions to visit: 1. Temples - Yoganandeeshwara, Bhoganandeeshwara, Gavi Veerbhadra Swamy 2. Tipu Fort - It used to be Tipu Sultan's summer house. Since entry here is prohibited, it can only be seen from the outside 3. Tipu Drop - This is the place Tipu Sultan dropped his prisoners as punishment 4. Paragliding - Nandi Hills is one of the unique places in Karnataka which offers paragliding activity 5.Secret Escape Route - A secret passage on the west, is believed to have helped the Kings to escape during unforeseen attacks
