South Shore Beach in Chicago is an integral part of the historic landmark - South Shore Cultural Center, which is home to a golf course, a formal dining hall, and a solarium.

Other features from the Cultural Center include a culinary institute, Dr. Margaret Burroughs gallery, and a theater.

This 65-acre park comprises a beach, along with a natural sanctuary that sits towards the eastern end of the Cultural Center. This natural sanctuary features a mini wetland, a butterfly garden, dunes, woodland, and a prairie landscape, among other wildlife in the region. Distance swimming is available here from south end rocks to the trees in the north end.
