Badrinath, Chamoli Overview

Located at a distance of 98 km from Chamoli, Badrinath temple is considered to be one of the most sacred pilgrimages for Hindus. Perched at an elevation of 3133 m, the temple is dedicated to lord Vishnu and was established I the 9th century by Adi Guru Shri Shankarcharya.

With the might River Alaknanda flowing by the side of the temple complex, the place can be visited during the months of May to October. Million of pilgrims and devotees visit here to pray but the temple remain closed during the winters due to heavy snowfall.
