Bear Mountain State Park Tourism

Bear Mountain State Park is sprawled across 5000 acres on the west bank of the Hudson River. Having all the perks and facilities of a State Park, Bear Mountain offers a multitude of activities like fishing, hiking, swimming, ice skating (between October and March), and skiing. There are also museums and a zoo located inside.

The annual highlight at Bear Mountain though is Oktoberfest. Held around the 20th of October each year to celebrate German heritage, this festival draws crowds from all over the state and is a fair, music festival and beer garden all rolled into one! Visitors get to enjoy authentic German beers and food and spend the day surrounded by entertainment. Over the last few years, this festival has gotten so popular that they have moved it to a more spacious venue which is right next to Bear Mountain.
