Palace of Shirvanshahs, Baku Overview

The Palace of the Shirvanshahs dates back to the 15th century and served as the residence for the rulers of the Shirvanshah dynasty, who were the rulers of the Shirvan region. The Palace of the Shirvanshahs is part of the Old City of Baku, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The palace complex features a variety of structures, including a mausoleum, a mosque, a divankhana (ceremonial hall), a residential building, and a bathhouse. Notable architectural elements include intricate carvings, geometric patterns, and glazed tile decorations, showcasing the artistic achievements of the time.

The mausoleum within the complex is the burial place of Shirvanshahs and stands as an impressive example of medieval Azerbaijani architecture.
