For Indian travelers, the process of visiting this fascinating capital city of Azerbaijan has been simplified through the introduction of the e-Visa system. This is a single-entry visa that is valid for 90 days post its date of issuance and allows the visa holder to stay in Azerbaijan for a maximum of 30 days.

Azerbaijan visa requirements for Indian citizens

  • An Indian passport.
  • Address of accommodation in Azerbaijan. (You can either book a hotel in Baku online or buy a tour package for Azerbaijan that includes accommodation to get an accurate address for the visa form.)

Eligibility

  • Make sure that your passport is valid for at least 3 months after the expiration date of your e-visa, while applying.
  • You must apply a minimum of 3 working days before the date of the journey for a standard visa. However, you can also apply for an urgent-visa 3 hours before your departure by paying some additional fee.

Application Process

  1. Visit the official electronic visa portal of Azerbaijan at evisa.gov.az.
  2. Here you can choose the option for a single-entry standard visa or an urgent visa.
  3. Fill out the online application form with accurate and up-to-date information, including personal details and passport information.
  4. Upload supporting travel documents. Ensure that they are clear and legible.
  5. If you are travelling with others then you can also add additional members and fill their details separately in the same form.
  6. Pay the e-visa processing fee using a valid debit or credit card.
  7. Review and submit your application.

Payment for the e-Visa

The total payment to be made for a standard visa is 25 USD which includes a 5-dollar service fee. However, the cost of an urgent visa is 60 dollars, including the service fee of 40 dollars. The paid amount is non-refundable in case of rejection or cancellation. You can make your payment only via Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay cards. The card doesn’t necessarily have to be in the applicant’s name.

Duration of stay

An e-visa for Azerbaijan is valid for a total of 90 days from the date of issuance. However, the stay period with a single entry visa cannot exceed 30 days. If you are planning to stay in Baku or Azerbaijan for more than 15 days, you must be registered at the place of residence with the State Migration Service. In case of emergencies, if you wish to extend your stay, you are required to apply for the extension of the temporary staying period or issuance of a temporary residence permit.

Obtaining a Baku e-Visa for Indians can be a hassle-free experience if you follow the right steps and directions. With its user-friendly application process and seamless entry requirements, the e-Visa allows travelers to embark on their Baku journey with confidence and excitement. So pack your bags, secure your e-Visa, and get ready to experience the magic of Baku firsthand!
