About Badrinath Tourism: Badrinath in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli District is one of India’s Char Dham pilgrimage sites and has been established by Adi Shankaracharya. Apart from the revered Badrinath Temple, Badrinath is also admired for its breathtaking views of waterfalls, rivers and streams and snow-clad peaks. Holidify offers splendid Badrinath tour packages for an incredible holiday with friends or family.
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Badrinath Temple near River Alaknanda attracts thousands of devotees during the sacred Char Dham Yatra between April and October. If you find the journey to be too arduous on foot, you can avail of the helicopter service from Dehradun, though it is slightly expensive. The temple and the medicinal Tapt Kund within are said to rid you of your sins and miseries.
Some sacred sites to visit in Badrinath include Charan Paduka (a rock believed to be Lord Vishnu’s footprints from when he first walked the earth), Brahma Kapal (where Lord Brahma is said to reside), Pandukeshwar (where the Pandavas’ father worshipped Lord Shiva) and the naturally formed Ganesh Gufa. Narad Kund is yet another holy hot water spring where people take a dip before visiting Badrinath Temple.
The Vasudhara Falls and the Saraswati River are always part of Badrinath packages, given their religious significance. The Vasudhara Falls is believed to be the resting place of the Pandavas, while the Saraswati River has been mentioned in the Vedas. When planning a trip to Badrinath, do not skip scenic spots like Neelkanth, a massive snow-clad mountain in the Garhwal region, magnificent Alka Puri Glacier and Satopanth Lake.
If the Mahabharata fascinated you, head over to Bheem Pul, a natural stone bridge with the Saraswati River flowing below that was supposedly discovered by Bheem. Also, head over to the picturesque Mana Village near the Tibetan-Chinese border to enjoy a day in complete tranquillity amidst the imposing Himalayas.
Clubbed together with Badrinath are Haridwar, Rudraprayag and Guptakashi so that you can experience the most of Uttarakhand, all about five to nine hours away. Haridwar is a temple town. You can also attend the holy Ganga Aarti or even the Kumbh Mela. The religiously significant Rudraprayag is known for Ukhimath and Sonprayag.
You can also visit the beautiful Khirsu area, Jakholi village or Augustmuni. Guptakashi is synonymous with the Manikarnik Kund, snow-covered Gaurikund, Vishwanath Temple and Ardhanarishwar Temple. Sure to leave you with innumerable memories, Holidify’s Badrinath tour packages are curated for solo and group travellers and are not only customisable but also affordable!
The timings for darshan at Badrinath Temple are 6 am to 12 noon and 4 pm to 9:30 pm. However, on special days and occasions, visiting times can be changed.
