Haripad Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, Alleppey Overview
Known as the Palani of the South, Haripad Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple is one of the largest and oldest Subrahmanya Swami temples in Kerala, with a history going back 3,500 years and, according to belief, established by Lord Parashurama before the start of Kaliyuga. Built in traditional Kerala architectural style with four gopurams, it is known for its very tall golden flagpost (Kodimaram) and one of the largest temple ponds in the state, Perumkulam, spanning over 5 acres. The temple also has a round sanctum, a Koothambalam, and Murugan's Vahana.
