March to June brings pleasant weather (10°C to 25°C) and blooming rhododendrons, perfect for sightseeing and toy train rides. October to December offers clear skies and majestic views of Kanchenjunga. July to September is monsoon, when heavy rainfall can cause landslides but also turns the hills lush and misty. January and February are cold, with occasional snow at higher viewpoints.

Ideal Duration & Popular Itineraries
Darjeeling holidays usually last 2 to 4 days, often combined with Gangtok, Kalimpong, or Pelling. Popular formats include:

2 Days: Tiger Hill sunrise, Batasia Loop, Ghoom Monastery, and Mall Road.
3 Days: Adds Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoo, and Peace Pagoda.
4 Days: Extends with Mirik Lake or a scenic drive to Gangtok.

Top Things to Do

Gangtok for Sikkim’s monasteries and high-altitude lakes
Kalimpong for quiet monasteries and viewpoints
Mirik for its serene lake and orange orchards
Pelling for closer views of Kanchenjunga
