Day 1 Arrival in Moshi - Leisure Day

  • Transfer to Springlands Hotel for your overnight stay and dinner.
  • Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel in Moshi.
  • Embark on a scenic 5-hour drive to the Machame Park Gate from Moshi (910m).
  • At the gate, you'll receive a packed lunch.
  • The forest trek starts, and there's a chance of encountering rain in this lush environment, making the trail muddy and slippery.
  • Your trekking adventure covers approximately 11 kilometres and takes around 6 hours.
  • As the day winds down, you'll arrive at Machame Camp (3,100m) where your dinner and a chilly night await.
  • Start your day early with breakfast at Machame Camp.
  • The trek continues with an ascent, taking you from 3,100 meters to 3,840 meters.
  • You'll hike through varying landscapes, including lush moorlands and rocky terrain.
  • Expect around 4-5 hours of trekking at a moderate pace.
  • After a short picnic lunch break, you'll continue your journey.
  • Your destination is Shira Camp, located at 3,840 meters.
  • As the day winds down, settle into your campsite for the evening, and dinner will be served.
  • Your day kicks off with breakfast at Shira Camp.

  • Resume your ascent towards Karanga Camp, gaining altitude along the way.
  • The journey today covers roughly 13 kilometers, typically taking around 7 hours.
  • Karanga Camp, situated at 4,550 meters, serves as your lunch stop.
  • Following lunch, prepare for the final push to Barafu Camp, where you'll spend the night.
  • The challenging terrain makes this a demanding day.
  • As you arrive at Barafu Camp (4,550 meters), dinner will be served before you rest for the night.
  • Rise at around 23:30 to begin your summit attempt.
  • After a light meal and some tea and biscuits, start your climb toward Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters).
  • The journey involves ascending rocky scree and heavy snow, eventually reaching Stella Point (5,685 meters).
  • Pause briefly at Stella Point to witness a magnificent sunrise if weather conditions permit.
  • Continue your 2-hour trek to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro.
  • Spend some time at the summit but avoid lingering too long due to the cold and fatigue.
  • Descend to Kibo Camp for rest and lunch.
  • Continue your descent, heading to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters) with caution.
  • The trek down takes about 3 hours.
  • Arrive at Mweka Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
  • After breakfast at Mweka Camp, begin your descent toward Mweka Village.

  • After an early breakfast at Springlands Hotel in Moshi, you'll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
