Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Tanzania - Kilimanjaro Moshi
  • Your journey starts as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
  • You'll be greeted with a private transfer to Moshi.
  • Check-in at your hotel.
  • In the evening, gather for a practical pre-climb briefing.
  • During the briefing, we'll also ensure that you have the necessary medical coverage and travel insurance, ensuring your safety.
  • Enjoy dinner at the hotel and rest comfortably for the night in Moshi, preparing for the adventure ahead.
  • After breakfast, we'll pick you up from your Moshi lodge.
  • You'll be driven to the Marangu gate, where we'll take care of the necessary paperwork.
  • The trek begins, leading you through the dense rainforest, with a chance to spot some primates.
  • Along the way, enjoy a packed lunch.
  • You'll trek to the Mandara Hut, covering a distance of about 8.3 kilometres in approximately 5 hours.
  • As the day concludes, dinner will be served.
  • Spend the night at the Mandara Hut, situated at an altitude of 2700 meters.
  • Kickstart your day with an early breakfast.
  • Shortly after leaving Mandara Hut, you'll reach the timberline and enter the heath and moor zone.
  • After approximately 4 – 6 hours of trekking, you'll arrive at Horombo Hut, standing at an altitude of 3700m.
  • Enjoy lunch during your journey.
  • From the hut, relish fantastic views overlooking Mawenzi, Kibo, and the wide plain of the Masai steppe.
  • As the day comes to a close, dinner will be served and spend the night at Horombo Hut.
  • This day is dedicated to acclimatization, a crucial step for summit success.
  • Begin your day with breakfast at Horombo Hut.
  • Embark on a 4-hour trek to the distinctive Zebra Rocks (4020m) covering a distance of 5 kilometres. These rocks are named for their black and white stripes.
  • Upon your return to Horombo Hut, a warm lunch will be waiting for you.
  • Take the afternoon to rest and recharge, preparing for the hike ahead.
  • Overnight stay at Horombo Hut (Altitude: 3700 meters).
  • Begin your day with breakfast at Horombo Hut.
  • After breakfast, continue your trek southeast, passing the "Last Water point" and the "saddle," a nearly vegetation-less plateau that joins Kibo and Mawenzi summits.
  • After about 5 – 6 hours of trekking, you'll reach your destination, Kibo Hut, situated at an altitude of 4700m.
  • Enjoy stunning views of Kilimanjaro along the way.
  • Lunch will be served during the trek.
  • Have an early evening meal at Kibo Hut as the night will be short.
  • Meals provided include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Overnight stay at Kibo Hut (Altitude: 4700 meters).
  • This is the "Big Day" – the summit stage.
  • Begin your final ascent around midnight, a long and strenuous journey.
  • Pass by the Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m as you slowly ascend.
  • Witness a breathtaking sunrise as you reach Gillman’s Point (5681m), the crater rim of Kilimanjaro.
  • Continue hiking for another 1 – 2 hours to reach Uhuru Peak at 5895m, the highest point.
  • Meals provided include packed breakfast and lunch.
  • The time you spend at the summit depends on weather conditions.
  • Descend back to Kibo Hut after summiting, have a warm meal, and take a short 1 – 2 hour break.
  • The return journey from the summit to Horombo Hut can take over 7 hours.
  • You will be covering a distance of approximately 22 kilometres in around 12 – 15 hours.
  • Overnight stay at Horombo Hut (Altitude: 3700 meters).
  • Begin your day with breakfast at Horombo Hut.
  • Start your descent through the heath and moor zone to reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where a warm lunch awaits.
  • Pass through the tropical rainforest once again during the trek.
  • After a total of 6 hours of trekking, you'll be back at the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (1860m).
  • Say your farewells to your mountain guides and complete necessary paperwork with park authorities.
  • Receive your official summit certificate (green for Gilman’s Point and gold for Uhuru Peak).
  • Afterward, a short transfer will take you back to your hotel in Moshi.
  • Once there, you can enjoy a warm and refreshing shower and celebrate your successful summit of Kilimanjaro.
  • Enjoy a final breakfast at your accommodation.
  • Your Kilimanjaro adventure concludes this day.
  • A dedicated vehicle will be ready to take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
  • Departure at your preferred time.
