Day 1 Arrive at Machame Gate - Trek to Machame Camp
  • Your Kilimanjaro adventure commences with breakfast at your hotel in Moshi.
  • Begin your journey with a 45-minute drive to Machame Gate.
  • Complete registration procedures at the gate.
  • Ascend through the lush forest to reach your first camp, Machame Camp (Altitude: 3,000m).
  • Enjoy packed lunch en route.
  • You will be trekking for approximately 7 hours to cover a distance of 18 kilometres.
  • All meals, including dinner, will be prepared by your dedicated cook.
  • Spend the night in comfortable tents at Machame Camp
  • Begin your day with breakfast at Machame Camp.
  • Trek through diverse landscapes, weather permitting, taking in your first view of the Western Breach during breakfast.
  • Reach Shira Camp (Altitude: 3,840m) after covering 9 kilometres in about 6 hours.
  • Packed lunch will be provided during your journey.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in comfortable tents at Shira Camp.
  • Start your day with breakfast at Shira Camp.
  • Your path will take you into a somewhat desert-like rocky area.
  • After around 5 hours of walking, you'll arrive at Lava Tower, located at an altitude of 4,600 meters.
  • This is a great spot to enjoy panoramic views of Shira Plateau, Oehler Ridge, and the Eastern Breach.
  • During your journey, you'll experience both uphill and downhill terrain.
  • Be sure to savor your packed lunch along the way.
  • In another two hours, you will reach Barranco Camp.
  • You will be trekking for approximately 7 hours to cover a distance of 15 kilometres.
  • Barranco Camp is situated at an altitude of 3,950 meters, where you'll have your dinner and spend the night.
  • Begin your day with breakfast at Barranco Camp.
  • You'll start your morning with a challenging climb up the almost-vertical Barranco Wall.
  • After approximately 3 hours, you'll reach an altitude of about 4,200 meters.
  • Enjoy a packed lunch along the trail.
  • From there, the path takes you through the southern slopes to arrive at the scenic Karanga Valley.
  • You will be trekking for a total of 4 hours to cover a distance of 6 kilometres.
  • Rest, enjoy dinner, and spend the night at Karanga Camp (Altitude: 4,200 meters).
  • Begin your day with a good breakfast at Karanga Camp.
  • After breakfast, continue walking southeast.
  • You'll reach a junction and then head north to reach Barafu Camp, situated at 4,600 meters, after about 4 hours of walking – covering about 7 kilometres.
  • Enjoy some fantastic views of Kilimanjaro along the way.
  • Have a rest at Barafu Camp and eat a packed lunch.
  • Get ready for the tough midnight climb to the summit.
  • Have dinner and spend the night at Barafu Camp, preparing for your summit adventure.
  • Start your day at Barafu Camp (Altitude: 4,600 meters).
  • At around midnight, embark on a challenging north-westerly climb up the southeast valley towards Stella Point on the crater rim.
  • This 6-hour trek to Stella Point is a mental and physical challenge, especially the steep face just below Stella.
  • The time you spend at the summit of Uhuru Peak (Altitude: 5,895 meters) depends on the weather and wind conditions.
  • Begin the descent, heading back to Mweka Camp.
  • The return journey from the summit to Mweka Camp can take over 7 hours.
  • All meals will be provided as packed meals.
  • This day is physically demanding, so take care of your pace, stay hydrated, and manage your energy levels.
  • Begin your day with breakfast at Mweka Camp (Altitude: 3,100 meters).
  • After breakfast, start your descent through the lush rainforest.
  • Your journey will take you from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (Altitude: 2,000 meters).
  • The trek covers a distance of about 15 kilometers and can take approximately 4-6 hours.
  • Arrive at Mweka Gate, where you'll complete necessary paperwork with park authorities.
  • You'll also receive your official summit certificate (green for Gilman’s Point and gold for Uhuru Peak).
  • A vehicle will transport you back to your chosen hotel in Moshi, marking the end of the journey.
