Wayanad Homestay

No amenities listed were present. We reached this shady place with two very old people, who do not know or understand basic English or Hindi. Firstly the car parking is so difficult, our car seemed to break down. The people there don't understand even basic English or any other language except Malayalam. But then we went to see our room and were in extreme shock because it was not even close to the pictures posted on booking.com. Extremely dirty rooms, insects, mosquitoes around, dirty beds, and shocking surroundings We told them that and they couldn't even understand and were blaming the site for uploading such details. Even basic amenities like drinking water, neat and clean bedsheets and all were missing. On asking for a bulb also they refused, how will we have lights? The bathroom used dirty paint buckets to bathe in. The same were given as dustbin too. Rugs and doormats were there to be used as blankets, a duster from which the old man killed a big bug, right in front of us given to use as a towel. The bed sheets smelled and were stale. How can people do this to other people? It seemed like a pathetic slum, where sharing washrooms and wash basins are there, which are shared with random people who decide to show up at the night. Safety was a major concern, as our room could not even get locked and we were three women, and random men invaded the Lil privacy we could have gotten at midnight. We had to leave immediately when we felt no safety and security. The people there threw some of our things when we were not present, and we deserve a refund for them immediately. It was very far away from even a decent place to eat. An utter scam, the person whose contact is given to us does not live there, Does not reply, and is very very unsympathetic. He threatens and puts false allegations when we told him that we will report this to the site. He tells this homestay is pathetic as others charge more than them.
