nice and ok, for what we got but don't expect anything spectacular.

the room we had was comfortable, clean and had the amenities we expected. The rooms where about twice the price an equivalent room would cost in Europe, however this is Singapore, so it was still a comparatively good deal. The staff was kind and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The location is good however getting from the MRT to the hotel involves stairs, (at least we couldn't find any other underground way or lift. the room was very calm.

Given it claims to be a five star hotel it asks to be judged as such. I do not see much of a different to 4 Star hotels in Europe. The rooms were nice but nothing spectacular. In fact the bathroom was surprinsingly small, lacking a fan (so the towels didn't dry). The air con was horrible. Once turned on, it blew cold air through the room as if it tried to turn summer into winter. There was no middle or low position, just cold and very cold; so even the auto mode comes with regular loud blasts of cold air once the room has heated up to a point where you want to get up to turn it on again. The breakfast buffet was excellent but it finishes quite early at 10 am. Which would be acceptable if one could actually just go and have breakfast. But we had to qeue for quite a while as the breakfast room is way too small for all the hotel guests. Once in it thus has more the feeling of a loud food court than a five star hotel. We also had less towels in the room than guests, which was resolved swiftly.

went there for a 1 day stayca for Christmas's eve with my family of 4. booked the twin bed room. bed was just nice for 2 adults and 2 kids. check in was smooth and paid for breakfast via check in which is cheaper than ala carte. breakfast spread was value for money. Location is good which is right next to shaw.

Best hotel to stay at orchard

Its clean. And smells okay. No funny toilet smell. Bed are comfy. Room is spacious. Staff are friendly and its 100% smoking-free! Food is great! We all love it!

The experience confirmed that we would use this hotel again if visiting Singapore

The stay at the Royal Plaza went well from start to finish. The staff were excellent, always receiving a smile and polite acknowledgement. The room was very clean and comfortable and the inclusion of the minibar items was a bonus. Complimentary water and minibar top up each day. The Xmas Day buffet lunch was excellent.

The door into the bathroom was inconvenient in that it opened onto the toilet seat, making movement in the bathroom difficult and restricted. We saw a sliding door in another room and that was a much better design.
