Rooms clean, great service from staff, good food

Had to pay a valet service for parking 27 euro, which I wasnt made aware of when booking, valet wouldnt return car, as had been parked so poorly the evening before by the valet service.

Decent stay but could be better.

Location is perfect - we really like Charlemont area and it's really convenient to walk or take a tram to city center. We had booked 2 rooms for 3 day stay and there wasn't any problem with checking in or out. Room sizes were a bit smaller than expected but overall it was nice - liked colors and bathroom. Amenities provided were also good and enough for short stay. Rooms warm and quiet. We also dined in hotel's restaurant and had breakfast. Would like to point out excellent service from dinner servers (unfortunately couldn't catch their names) - extremely helpful, polite, egger to do their best! Meals were really high standard and delicious. Parking available was a plus and another reason why we choose this hotel.

From accommodation - rooms wasn't hoovered properly, amenities just for 2 persons per room even there were 3 of us, room service really slow. We went out around 11 am and returned after 5pm, but rooms were served just then, which is annoying after requesting rooms to be serviced on our absence. We even left a list with what's missing and would like to be replaced, but still it took some time to explain and get it - and it did pissed off room attendant (though tip was taken first without smirk). In one of the rooms just beds were made, no extra cleaning or tidying up or even trash removed for all 3 days. Bathroom sink was blocked with lots of hair, some plastic parts and we needed to clean it ourselves as attendant didn't bother to have a look. One of the breakfast attendants all mornings was incredible rude, she shouldn't be working in hospitality at all with that kind of "what do you want?!?" attitude. Not a nice thing to face in mornings. And last not least, it was a challenge to get our car back. It took around 20 minutes to allocate it. They brought wrong keys and after showed a bunch of them asking which one is the right. Then couldn't find a place where it's parked - not too professional. Note for other travelers - valet parking and you need to turn your keys in.

Love Dublin but its too expensive and its now gained a reputation which is hard to change its sad it kills Dublin

Great hotel, very clean and easy check in/check out. Location cant be beat. Very modern.

Room and hotel in general was super warm. Couldnt figure out how to turn off heating in room, but didnt ask staff for help so thats on me.

Disappointing

One of the ladies who welcomed us at the breakfast was very nice and friendly.

I have stayed at the Clayton hotels many times and at this particular hotel the last time about a year and a half ago. My previous experiences were positive and the staff were always excellent - except at the airport hotel which I would avoid. Unfortunately this time the experience at Clayton Charlemont was very different and the staff seemed to not care at all. It was much more unfriendly and less helpful than before. When we asked to take a certain table at breakfast the woman practically rolled her eyes and was quite hostile in her approach. The shower in our room was grimy. We had no shampoo and conditioner in our room and when we called down for it the receptionist clearly didnt care and was inconvenienced by our request. They finally sent someone with a very dirty bottle of shampoo that had not even been wiped down. On checkout we were told to use an automated machine when there was nobody at the reception and the staff member who told us to do it stood by and watched while we lifted our suitcases down the steps because the luggage lift was full. The overall impression I had was that it is such a shame that a lovely hotel with nice staff seems to have lost the staff that cared.
