I have stayed at this hotels many times previously and love the location, even though under its current ownership the staff are less helpful than in the past when it was originally managed by a lovely group of Philippinos. It has never been the same since the new ownership chose to concentrate on Chinese shopping groups.

What is the point of being a hotel when rejecting single person occupancy of a room. Originally, I was expecting to be accompanied by my wife. Unfortunately, she was unable to accompany me because of health issues. I chose not to try to take up my booking because of the continuous messages about not accepting a solo guest. I booked an IMG hotel in Hong Kong for much the same price and better facilities (although nowhere as nice a location being in Kowloon). I took the ferry to Mui Wo and the day was full of dragon boat racing. I am seriously considering the patronage of the Silvermine because of its management - which is a great pity as I have great fondness for the location and have many happy memories of the hotel. The management verges on the edge of amateurism, exemplified by the attempt to plant trees which simply died by being planted in sandy soil, and by the rusting pieces of past equipment at the front of the hotel. I suspect it survives by targeting shopping groups who are thought not to return to the location.

A very enjoyable stay, hotel was good value for money and staff were friendly and efficient.

It was a nice peaceful location, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and in good order

Our room was on the third floor and there is no elevator. This is no problem for people in good health but my wife struggled a little bit due to a heart condition. That said, I'm sure they would have moved us to a lower floor if we had asked (which we did not). Just something to bear in mind for anyone with a disability.

Great location to stay in Lantau.

Room with beach view and comfortable. Facilities in hotel and area around are good. Food grocery and small shopping are in walking distance. Convenient access to pier for ferry. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

The hotel is comfortable but not soundproof so I wouldnt go back.

The pool is nice. The proximity to the beach, the ferry, the outdoor playground behind the hotel, is convenient. The all you can eat bbq at the hotel is a good option too.

Our room wasnt soundproof at all. We could hear the neighbors children playing until late at night. Also the plumbery is outdated, the water running through the pipes is very noisy, any neighbor having a late shower or bath will wake you up.

Place is not that bad, walking is alright, the reception is also okay. I like that they have a game console as well to play around if you're bored and some small activities. The beach front now is doing renovation but that doesn't mean you can't go. still good

a bit of a walk if really need to get some actual food if you don't like the choices of their food. Now the walk-up of course so if you have luggage you will have a hard time. they do not provide water bottle, but they do have a refillable water area for everyone.
