Very poor

An awful experience. Cannot recommend.

Nice enough staff. The location was very convenient for the museums and the underground. The interior decor of the room was pleasant and a touch quirky. However, these are the only positives. They are all eclipsed by the negatives.

The unbearable temperature of the room. Even in December, it was genuinely insufferable. The AC was not functioning and as a consequence it was necessary for us to leave the window open 24/7. You can imagine that is less ideal in central London on a main arterial road. The underground also resulted in thunderous noise way past midnight. Trying to sleep but still awake at 3:30am creates a lot of distress and frustration. Even on the top floor, room 404, you could feel the floor vibrate from the noise of the underground trains. We did report the heat problem it to reception and was assured it would be looked into. However, nothing changed. To my understanding the staff did nothing to resolve the problem. It was miserable. Also, I am fairly sure that electrical mains wiring MUST be mechanically fixed and properly insulated. Sadly both bedside lamps were merely wired into open terminal blocks with a bit of insulating tape. Seems very dangerous to me. I'd be very surprised if they conform to safety standards. The decor was tired and in places disgraceful. The side of the vanity/sink unit in the bathroom was a mess. Can't recommend for anyone's stay. Avoid. Seriously. Avoid.

Good

It's on its way from Heatrow and the city, so check in - check out is beyond easy. The neighbourhood is beautiful, so I highly recommend a walk in the beautiful area near the Thames.

The view from my room was a brick wall. But it was quite on the other side.
