Detailed Itinerary
Arrival at Srinagar Airport where you will be met by our representative/driver. Transfer to the hotel which is already booked for you. After check-in, proceed for local sightseeing of two famous Mughal gardens. Nishat Bagh, also known as the Garden of Pleasure, is a ten terraced garden sprawled along the eastern side of Dal Lake, with the towering Zabarwan hills as its backdrop. Built in 1634, designed by Asif Khan during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Shalimar Bagh is considered to be the finest Mughal-style hill garden and was made by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1619 for his beloved wife, Nur-Jahan. The Shalimar Bagh was built as the summer residence of the Mughals. The water canals and fountains cover a major area of the garden, and the gurgling sound of soothing water canals enhances the experience. Overnight stay in the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Sonamarg, which is known for its beautiful drive from Srinagar. On the way, we stop at many beautiful spots. The total distance of 80 km will be covered in 3 hours. Sonamarg is also the takeoff station for the drive to Ladakh across the Zojila, a major pass in the Great Himalayan range. Sonamarg is known as the gateway to Ladakh. In the evening, return to Srinagar for an overnight stay in the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Pahalgam, the valley of shepherds. Drive through saffron fields and visit the Awantipura ruins of a 1100-year-old Lord Vishnu temple built by King Awantiwareman. Drive through the pine forest and along the Lidder River. The total distance of 96 km will be covered in about 3 hours. Pahalgam is the most famous place for the Indian film industry. In the evening, return to Srinagar.
After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg, the meadows of flowers at 2730 meters above sea level. The distance of 60 km will be covered in 2 hours. It has delightful ski slopes and the highest 18-hole golf course in the world. If the weather permits, you can also have a view of Nanga Parbat. The view en route from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is magnificent. In the evening, return to Srinagar for an overnight stay in a houseboat.
This morning after breakfast, depart for Srinagar Airport, Railway Station, or Bus Stand for your onward safe journey.
