Murugan Temple, Yelagiri Overview

Located on one of the highest peaks of the Yelagiri Hills, the Murugan Temple is among the most visited tourist places in Yelagiri. It is dedicated to Lord Murugan. Its location on the top of the hill gives the tourist a mesmerising view of the green valleys of Yelagiri.

Constructed in 1964, the temple's highlight is the statue of Lord Murugan and Valli in the form of Kuravan and Kurathi. Apart from Lord Murugan, there is a separate shrine for Lord Ganesha within the temple. Temple bells are placed at the top of the mountain. There is also a humongous statue of the mythological character, Ghatothgajan in the standing position, at the temple.
