Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, Venice Overview

Scala Contarini del Bovolo, situated on a quaint street between Rialto and San Bartolo, is a popular palazzo that is designed with a multi-arch spiral staircase making it unique. This palazzo is also famous for the rooftop arcade that offers a breathtaking 360 degree view of the city.

Built-in the 15th century by notable architect Giovanni Candi, the entire building has 80 steps arranged in a spiral manner and takes you to the top of the palazzo. The building houses a small gallery of Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo that exhibits Venetian art of the 16th to 18th century. Do visit the exhibit having the portrait of Moor Lazzaro Zen and sketch of the Paradise that are curated by notable artists like Francesco Guardi & Jacopo Tintoretto.
