Muzhappilangad Beach, Thalassery Overview

Situated in the Thalassery region of Kerala, Muzhappilangad is one of the largest drive-in beaches in India. Running parallel to NH66 formerly know as NH17, it is a major tourist attraction and garners a large number of foreign crowd. The beautiful drive in the beach of Muzhapillangad is the most popular activities pursued here. As you drive through the golden sands of the beach, the sunset and the view of the sea are unforgettable and awe-inspiring. The place is filled with eateries to stop by, where you can enjoy a quick snack in the midst of the beach's pristine terrain. If you are looking for some family outing or to spend some time alone, the calm and peaceful environment of the Muzhapillangad beach is what you need.

In addition to being a charming weekend destination, Muzhapillangad beach is also the venue for a fun-filled beach festival which is celebrated here in the month of April. Youngsters throng the beach during this time and you can witness activities like car stunts in, drifting and wheeling in bikes on the smooth surface of the sand. Lying at a distance of about 200 metres is a small private island called Dharmadam which is a serene and isolated destination where you relax in the lap of nature. Since the late 90's, the beach has seen a steady influx of European tourists during winter, and since the recent facelift of the beach, there has been a huge improvement in the facilities available to the beach visitors.
