The Farm Map

Entopia Butterfly Farm is broadly divided into two intriguing sections- Natureland which is the outdoor section and Cocoon which is the inner section of the farm.

NAatureland
The main outdoor glasshouse with a living garden vivarium has been named as Natureland. This is further divided into 6 subsections- the Mystery Cave, Tiger Falls, Home Tree, Dragon Park, Aroma Trail and David’s Gate, all which house fiery yet mysterious butterflies. Apart from the colorful butterflies, it also houses reptiles such as the lazy monitor lizard, iguanas or chameleons.

Cocoon
The indoor discovery center of Entopia, which is a two storied homely looking galleria, has been named as the Cocoon which is divided into 8 subsections- Pandora Forest, Metamorphosis, Cinerama, Breeding Ground, Lumino City, Downtown Entopia, Underground Mysteries and Understory Tales. This section allows one to witness the various stages of the butterfly breeding process, especially its transition from the pupae to a fully grown butterfly. Along with a huge exhibit of the various types of butterfly eggs, there are various posters and information walls on which the life cycle of a butterfly is shown pictorially.

Activities at Entopia Butterfly Farm

Vita Nova: Latin term for ‘new life’, this tour allows one to release the butterflies which have newly arisen from their cocoons and let them take their first flight and happily mingle away amongst its fellow mates.

Nature Tale: Entopia Butterfly Farm houses not only a wide array of mesmerising butterflies, but is also a home to various other species of flora and fauna. This mini tour across Entopia allows one to get acquainted to all of these unique species and learn more about them.

Backstage!: This activity gives one the perfect opportunity to witness how the expert breeders take care of the caterpillar pupae and how the breeders in the breeding station work.

Bug Exploration: To explore the various creepy crawlies residing with the butterflies in Entopia Butterfly Farm, this is the perfect tour. One can also touch these friendly bugs, but only under the supervision of the farm authorities.

Crawlies, Alive!: This fun, interactive session involves checking out the various creepy crawlies from the Bug Exploration tour and learn more about their behaviour and natural habitats.

Session 2: 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM and 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: Session 1 at the Hobby Center and Session 2 at the Breeding Ground

The Wonders of the Silkworm: This session allows you to witness the silkworms and silkmoths at work and even feed these hard working crawlies! The session guide also briefs about the lifecycle of the Mulberry silkmoths.

Note: The timings for all the activities are fixed for all the days of the week including public holidays.

How to Reach Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm

Taking a bus to Entopia is a good option. Bus lines 101 and 501 stop near Entopia from where the main entrance is about 5 minutes walking distance. Smk Teluk Bahang is the station nearest to the butterfly farm and is about 5 minutes of walking distance from there.

Need to Know

Early morning is the ideal time to visit the butterfly farm as more butterflies come out when the temperature is cooler.
