HaTachana, Tel Aviv Overview

HaTachana, the old Jaffa railway station, is between Tel Aviv Beach and Neve Tzedek. The former terminal for the Jaffa-Jerusalem train is now a popular public place with many restaurants, boutiques, cafés and bars.

Set amidst 19th-century historic buildings, various cultural events, including concerts, festivals, and art exhibitions, are hosted here. An old disused cement factory has been restored as a retail shop. Every Saturday, a stage performance with jugglers, acrobats and street musicians takes place for 30-40 minutes on the Centre Stage. On Fridays, an organic market is set up with eco-friendly home and personal care products. The Railways Carriage experience is the latest edition to the place, which gives a thrilling train carriage ride accompanied by holograms and 3D videos explaining the station's history. Among the different stores to check out, AHAVA selling dead sea products, SOHO selling designer items and GAYA selling innovative games are a must-visit.
