In 1876, Pioneer Park was established in the celebration of the U.S. Centennial, at the top of Telegraph Hill, which was earlier a marine telegraph station. This 4.89 acres park offers beautiful views of the city and the Bay area. The park features a large statue of Christopher Columbus, Coit Tower, and resting benches, and Filbert and Greenwich steps.

The Coit Tower is a famous destination for visitors. It stands tall amid the Pioneer Park. This lofty tower offers a 360° all-inclusive view of the bay, bridges, and the surrounding areas. Visitors can reach up to there, either via the footpaths on the eastern region of Telegraph hill, or the roadway of Telegraph hill. There's a charge for riding the elevator up to the top of the tower. It costs around $ 4.50, and you may have to wait up to forty minutes. The elevator operator will give you a short history of the Coit Tower on the way to the top. On reaching the tower top, you can see the panoramic city view through the Plexiglas windows.
