Located in the Eastern Himalayas, Pithoragarh is a lovely place. It is in close proximity to some beautiful glaciers like Ralam, Milam, Meola and Namik. Nanda Devi East and Nanda Devi West can be see (Read More)n from here. Nature is bountiful in this hill town. Both winters and summers are great to visit.

Lots of different modes of transport exist from Delhi to Pithoragarh: 1) Rail - You can get daily trains to Kathgodam from New Delhi Railway Station. Two of these are: -Uttar Sampark Kranti Express (Read More) -Kathgodam Express. You can hire a shared taxi from Kathgodam 2) The distance between Delhi and Pithoragarh is around 470 KM. Travel time by road is about 10-12 hours. You can hire a cab or drive on your own. This is easily the best option considering that you do not have to break your journey into two or more parts. 3) Buses depart from ISBT Anand Vihar, and take around 7-8 hours to reach Haldwani. Disembark here and get a shared cab to Pithoragarh.

Pithoragarh is a really beautiful place with stunning landscapes. There is no real concept of summer and sees heavy snowfall in the winters. It's absolutely mesmerising.

Q. Is it good to combine a visit to Pithoragarh with Kausani? What activities can one do at these places, while travelling with family n kids?

Pithoragarh and Kausani are 167 KM apart, so if you wish to travel to both of these places, you can book a cab or take a bus. Kausani serves as a base for a few amazing treks like the Pindari Glacier (Read More) Trek. Apart from this, there is also a waterfall and a few temples and other places for sightseeing. As for Pithoragarh, it has a wildlife sanctuary a few kilometers from the town, and other places of interest. Pithoragarh is 606 KM from Sankri, which would take up a lot of your time. Someplace closer, like Dehradun or Mussoorie is a better option.
