Nyelung Dechenling, Phobjikha Valley (Gangtey) Overview
Nyelung Dechenling temple is one of the eight residences of Nyingma Dzogchen master Longchen Rabjam (Longchenpa) and is located near Amankora Gangtey Resort. The monk might indulge one in historic tales and fascinating relics and might even bless the visitor with the religious picture called Thangka which contains the handprints of Master Longchen.
There is an old cypress tree nearby which is said to have emerged out of his walking stick. Another chapel nearby is dedicated to the Dzogchen protector Rahula. The water from a spring near to this place is said to be a cure for disease and illness of the mind. There are also two other springs nearby whose water is said to be holy. Advisable to follow proper clothing etiquette.
