Gangtey Nature Trails and hikes, Phobjikha Valley (Gangtey) Overview

Gangtey Nature Trails and Hikes is a wonderful option for bird-watchers and hikers alike, there are a couple of trails that could be traversed upon which range from easy to tough. The easiest option might be the 90-minute trail from a wall north of Gangtey Goemba which culminates at Khewang Lhakhang.

A more difficult hike would be from the Black Necked Crane Information Centre through Seba Village to Gangtey Goemba and then again via the easier route to Semchubra Village and then to Kingthang Village and maybe even Yusa Village. Many bird sightings are said to occur along the hiking trail from Phobjikha to Kheylaykha. The Phubja trek is a popular trek that takes about three days and is a part of the religious tourism and ecotourism programme of the Government of Bhutan and other NGOs.
