Horse Riding Safari, Masai Mara Overview

Horse Riding Safari in Masai Mara is an exciting way to explore the African wilderness and beautiful savannahs around the Masai Mara National Reserve. Best to take around sunrise or sunset; it gets the tourists up close and personal with herds of elephant, zebra, giraffe and gazelle. Each session lasts approximately 2 hours and includes breakfast on the plains.

Instructors often give beginners a short riding lesson before heading out into the African bush. The journey includes crossing the Mara river at a wildebeest crossing junction which migrates to the area around July to October. Nonetheless, game viewing is fantastic all year round, thanks to the diverse population and large, expansive landscapes. Horse-riding is permitted only around the surrounding area and not inside the central reserve, but it gives enough exposure to being one with nature and these animals. There are a maximum of 2 sessions each day, with one beginning at 7 AM and the other at 3 PM. The safari can be supplemented with nature walks, and hot-air balloon rides to cover the reserve from every possible angle.
