Why the name Gulaba?

The name of the village, Gulaba, is derived from the first Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, Maharaja Gulab Singh, who was also the founder of the Dogra Dynasty. The Maharaja had camped at Gulaba when he was on his way to invade China during his reign in Jammu and Kashmir. The location was named so because it replicates the picturesque beauty of Kashmir with its snow-capped mountain peaks and lush green grasslands. This topography also makes Gulaba a preferred site for adventure and recreational activities.
