Makarska Observatory, Makarska Overview

Makarska Observatory, a unique scientific and tourist attraction in Makarska, is the youngest building in Croatia; it is located on a hill - Glavia near the waterfront and the beach and is surrounded by a ring of pine trees offering a stunning view of the night sky.

It was implemented in the memorial centre of World War II, built-in 1974 in honour of all fallen soldiers from Makarska and the Makarska Riviera. Volunteers of the DAUP-Orion organization organize various events and projects related to the universe. The Makarska Observatory is a place where you can enjoy the beauty and mystery of the cosmos in a friendly and educational atmosphere.
