There are wooden pathways between the falls around the pools with bamboo chairs to relax and enjoy the surroundings. You can go swimming in the pool, go diving or sunbathe on the bamboo chairs. There is also a zipline over the waterfalls for adventure seekers.


  • If you plan to rent a bike to reach Ban Aen, make sure you have sufficient fuel as there are no stations on the road once you go out of Luang Prabang town.
  • The road to the village is not in good condition. Hence it is advised to drive carefully.
  • There are some options for food and drinks in restaurants and cafes near the falls, but expensive. You can also carry your own food and picnic.
  • If you are opting to swim, wear modest swimsuits as the town is still conservative.

How To Reach Tad Sae Waterfall

You can get to the town by renting a motorbike which costs about 5 to 6 USD per day and park it off near the entry to boats. You can also reach Ban Aen by hiring a tuk-tuk from Luang Prabang, which costs about 150000 LAK per person for a return trip, which can be shared. The price also includes waiting charges. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to arrive at the village.
