The roads in Ladakh can be dangerous. If you are a good driver and comfortable driving through rough terrains, it can be more accessible. While driving, do not refer to Google maps to approximate the duration of driving the road as it can be wrong. Avoid driving in the dark during the road trip as it can be hard to navigate the streets. GPS can be unreliable at times, so read about the route in advance, stay on the highway as much as possible and you can also ask locals for direction. Even though the roads in Ladakh are rough, they are also the most scenic.
