Jyotisar, Kurukshetra Overview
Jyotisar is associated with the legend of Mahabharata and is a sacred site in Kurukshetra. It is where Lord Krishna recited the Bhagwad Geeta under a Banyan tree to Arjun, to prepare him to fight the war against Bhishma and Karan. The tree is believed to be the same tree that still exists in the town.
