Melawati Fort , Kuala Selangor Overview

Nestled on the Melawati Hill in Kuala Selangor, the Melawati Fort is regarded as one of the highest hilltops in the area. Its history dates back to the late 1700s i.e. during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim. Sultan Ibrahim built the Melawati Fort to protect the area from foreign invaders. The Melawati Fort offers a panoramic view of the beautiful Melawati River and the mangroves encircling it.

The canons that were installed by the ruler stand tall till date. The fort also houses ancient gravesites and a flat stone that was used during beheadings. During your visit, you can catch a glimpse of several silver leaf monkeys. These unique species of monkey are quite curious and playful. While these monkeys will make your visit joyful and exciting, you must be careful if you wish to interact with them.
