Chambal River Safari, Kota Overview

The Chambal River Safari, organised across the Chambal River near Kota, Rajasthan, includes exploring the river on a boat while being surrounded by greenery, sandbanks and ravines. The one hour river safari lets you experience close to 300 migratory and resident birds along with Ghariyals, crocodiles and more.

The river safari is an excellent way to learn about the diverse flora and fauna of the National Chambal Sanctuary which begins close to the the tripoint of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. With binoculars in hand, one can spot different species like the Gangetic River Dolphin, gharial, Marsh crocodile, Indian striped hyenas, Turtles, Smooth-coated otters etc. The region is also home to hundreds of resident and migratory birds including the Indian Skimmer. Led by naturalists, the river safari permits one to catch glimpses of the various species that inhabit the river and surrounding areas.
