1. Lakhi Narayan Bari

Dedicated to Lord Krishna, this temple was installed by Krishnanada Sevayet. It has monumental value today

The 14 deities' temple is dedicated to Ama or Tripuri, the mother of the people of Tripura. It is situated atop a tortoise shaped hill with the Lake Kalyansaga to its eastern side.

Traditionally grown tea can be seen on these tea estates along with organic tea. These plantations date back to 1916.

The central Shiva head is a rock cut carving of a height of 30 feet, including a headdress of 10 feet. A female figure and Goddess Durga are seen on the headdress. This carving is part of the multiple (Read More) carvings and sculptures on the hill.

Kailashahar is the town situated in the state of Tripura and is near the Bangladesh border. This town is considered as the Nagar Panchayat of the Unakoti district of Tripura. Kailashahar does not have its own airport or railway station. The nearest airport is at Agartala and the nearest railway station at Kumarghat. Kumarghat has trains coming from both Agartala (Tripura) and Lumding (Assam). Lumding is connected to trains from New Delhi, UP, Bihar, WB and other parts of Assam, Nagaland. It is well connected by road and can be accessed by taxis, buses or cars.

Initially, Kailashahar had and an airport, but due to some inconvenience, it had to shut down in the year 1990. However, there are airports nearby, making connectivity through the air much easier. Khowai Airport is just 50 km away from Kailashahar. Flights like Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Indigo, etc. do operate here. Apart from this airport, Aizawl airport is around 102 km away. The flight connectivity from different cities to here is much better. From these two towns, you have to go in a car or bus to reach Kailashahar.

You can reach Kailashahar easily through road as there are some buses available from nearby towns. Buses ply from towns like Shillong, Aizawl, Silchar, Unakoti, etc. on a regular basis. There are deluxe Volvo buses and state buses as well which connect Guwahati to Kailashahar.

Kailashahar has no station of its own. However, the nearest station is Kumarghat. 34 trains from various cities of the country get connected to Kumarghat. From here you can get jeeps, buses, cars or taxis to reach Kailashahar. This station is just 27 km away from the town. Dharamnagar is also a small station which is 15 km away from Kailashahar. There are approximate 14 trains which are connected to the station here. The major stations nearby are Lumding and Kamakhya which are approximately 196 km and 206 km away from the destination.
