Lang Co beach is an inviting stretch of white sand located in the Thua Thien-Hue Province of the Central coast of Vietnam. The Hai Van Mountain forms a backdrop to the beach noted for its natural beauty and huge sand dunes. The palm lined sand makes it a comfortable haunt for day tourists who enjoy the spectacular locale and a host of activities here.

The 10 kilometer long beach is recognized as a property of the Lang Co commune. Situated between Lap An lagoon and the ocean front, the stunning Lang Co Beach appears to be more of an island than an ordinary beach. However, international tourists are yet to discover the beauty of this place leaving the pleasure to the local Vietnamese people who enjoy a respite from daily drudgery of life by taking a trip to the beach.

Things to Do at Lang Co Beach

Swimming- The warm water is inviting enough with most of the visitors tempted to take a dip. Swimming happens to be the primary attraction of Lang Co beach that is deemed to be safe for both adults and kids. The presence of a life guards and security personnel nearby make it a secure location for keeping the belongings on the sand while taking a swim.

Hai Van Pass- This pass is found on the National Route 1A that connects Da Nang to Lang Co. The views of the mountain from the top are spectacular with many of the tourists keen to take capture the spectacular views via their cameras.

Lang Co Springs- Taking the road around the Lap An l and then continuing to walk for about 15 minutes through the forest will bring one to the springs. The water of the springs are clear and cool with numerous bamboo shelters put up for the visitors. Nature photography is one of the reasons to visit this area with the tourists being able to buy food from the locals in the vicinity.

Lang Co Fishing Village- The quaint village located on one side of the mountains presents a magnificent view with lush greenery, lofty mountain covered with misty clouds. It is a nature lover’s delight with the photographers being excited to click the beautiful village in all its grandeur. However, it is the availability of fresh sea food that lures the visitors to this village. Blue mussels, lampreys and cockles are hauled out from the sea and cooked on braziers right on the sandy beach for the tourists. It is also the main source for local medicines made out of seahorses and abalone.

Best Time to Visit

The months of April through July happen to be the best time to visit the Lang Co Beach when the weather is mild with very little possibility of rains.

Tips

1. Sunset at the beach is one of the highlights here making it important for visitors to remain on the sandy to watch the sun going down
2. Carrying food is not mandatory as there are numerous eateries serving fresh sea food to the tourists
3.  It might be a good idea to carry an umbrella or raincoat for the weather can be unpredictable

How To Reach Lang Co Beach

The quickest way to reach Lang Co beach would be to hire a private vehicle from Da Nang City or airport. Metered taxis are also available on rent for VND 450,000 approximately. The fare includes toll and Airport fees as well. People hoping for an inexpensive way of travel usually catch a public bus from the main bus terminus in Da Nang City and buy a ticket to the beach priced at VND 15,000.
