Paradise Country, Gold Coast Overview
Paradise Country is a Village Roadshow Theme Parks wildlife and farm attraction on Production Drive in Oxenford, Gold Coast, open since 2005. Visitors get close to koalas, kangaroos, wombats, dingoes, meerkats and marmosets, and can watch farmyard shows including billy tea making, a stock horse demonstration, sheep shearing and boomerang throwing. A Farmhouse Restaurant, tractor rides, pony rides and gold panning round out the day. The park holds Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia animal welfare accreditation.
Set on farmland in Oxenford, about a kilometre from Australian Outback Spectacular, Paradise Country combines an Australian wildlife park with a working homestead. Regular shows run through the day: a stock horse and billy tea demonstration around the campfire, a boomerang-throwing display, and a Shaun the Sheep-themed tractor ride and dance show for younger visitors. A Sunday Koala Breakfast pairs a buffet with an up-close koala talk, and the Wildlife Walkabout leads guests through kangaroo habitat. The park runs a "Save A Mate" wildlife conservation campaign and is often bought as part of multi-park Village Roadshow tickets alongside Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World and Wet'n'Wild.
