Hapur, Ghaziabad Overview

Situated at a distance of 60 km from Delhi, Hapur is the smallest district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Popularly known as one of the important religious centres of the Hindus in the north, the ancient city is home to several temples which draw a large number of devotees as well as tourists.

Among the popular temples in Hapur are Shiv Mandir, the Shani Mandir, the Sai Mandir, Sabli Shiv Temple, Garhmukteshwar and Chandi Mandir. Each of these temples are supposed to be at least 500 years old.

Aside from the Hindu temples, there are several Jain and Buddhist temples as well as dargahs, churches and mausoleums in Hapur. In addition to that, the town has many famous monuments, the most popular one of which is the Kuchesar Fort. Garmukteshwar

This temple is dedicated to Lord Dudheshwar Nath and attracts most of its devotees during the festival of Janmashtami.

Hapur is situated in the northern part of India which experience extreme summers and extreme winters. Temperature in the summer season can rise as high as 43 degrees while in winters it can get biting cold. So the best time to visit Hapur is during early winters i.e. October to December or during late winters i.e. February to April.

The nearest airport to Hapur is Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. And the nearest railway station is in Hapur itself. A lot of trains pass through the station on an everyday basis. You can travel in any of them. It is also connected to neighbouring cities via National Highway 24 where several public buses operate.
