The Makardhwaj Hanuman Mandir, also known as Hanuman Dandi, is a unique temple located on Bet Dwarka island, approximately 5 kilometers from the main Dwarkadhish Temple. It is the only known temple where Lord Hanuman is worshipped alongside his son, Makardhwaj—a rarity given Hanuman's celibate status. According to legend, Makardhwaj was born when a drop of Hanuman's sweat fell into the mouth of a Makara (a mythical sea creature), leading to his birth. The temple marks the spot where Hanuman first met Makardhwaj, who was guarding the entrance to Patal Lok under the orders of the demon Ahiravana. The temple's serene atmosphere and unique depiction of the father-son duo make it a significant pilgrimage site for devotees visiting Dwarka.
