Perched on the hillock of Shukleshwar on the Shukleshwar ghats of the Brahmaputra river in Guwahati, Janardana Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The shrine is a wonderful amalgamation of Buddhist and Hindu architectural styles, incorporating both design elements. The interior walls are milky white with elaborate carvings of deities.
The intricate fusion of Buddhist and Hindu style of architecture is quite attractive and attracts large crowd of devotees and admirer.
