Nandan Pahar, Deoghar Overview

Nandan Pahar is an amusement park built on top of a hill in the district of Deoghar in Jharkhand, India. It is famous as a picnic spot with several activities for one and all. One can have fun on one of the joy rides or go boating in the region or offer their prayers at the Nandi Temple. Legend of Nandan Pahar

Locals believe that once Ravana wished to enter Lord Shiva's abode, Shivadham. Nandi was serving as the doorkeeper and got into a fight with Ravana when he tried to forcibly enter the dham. Ravana lost his temper and picked Nandi up and threw him as far as he could. Nandi fell on this hill that is now known as Nandan Pahar.

The Lake on the hill is a perfect place for boating. Paddle boating is a favourite here as you slowly paddle across the serene waters and soak up the beautiful natural surroundings of the region.

There are theme houses at Nandan Pahar, a mirror house, a boot house and a ghost house. Enter a giant skull to feel the thrill of a haunted house or visit the boot house which is shaped like a boot or the mirror house to entertain self with images and reflections.

The toy train goes all around the hill and is a perfect way to explore Nandan Pahar if you are tired or just too lazy to explore the hill by foot.
