Ibbankatuwa Megalithic Tombs, Dambulla Overview
A historical site from the pre-Buddhism period of Sri Lanka, Ibbankatuwa Megalithic Tombs is an ancient burial site located around 5 Kms south of Dambulla. This site is one of the remnants of the Ibbankatuwa settlement, close to the Dambulla Oya River and dates back to the period of 700 to 400 BC. Discovered in 1970, these tombs are now a protected archaeological site in Sri Lanka.
