Best Time to Visit Cherrapunji

Early summers and winters are prime seasons to visit Meghalaya. The average temperature of Cherrapunji is 15°C but you will always find rain at Cherrapunji, so prepare for the tour accordingly. If you love rain,March and early April are good times to visit. Whereas, avoid planning a tour from May to September, in the peak monsoon season.

With the possibility of rainfall for a few days, the weather from October to February is the best time to visit Cherrapunji. Airways: Guwahati Airport, 181 km from Cherrapunj, is the nearest airport to Cherrapunji, connecting to major Indian cities. From there, you can book a cab. Technically, Umroi Airport in Shillong is the closest (91 km) to Cherrapunji but is not well-connected.

Railways: Guwahati Railway Station is the nearest to Cherrapunji and is well-connected to the nation. It is better to take a cab from the station and enjoy the serene environment.
