Saut-Mathurine, Haiti Overview

Saut-Mathurine is the largest waterfall in Haiti, located in Camp Perrin within the Sud Department. This waterfall is 89 feet high and 98 feet wide and originates from the Riviere de Cavaillon. Half of the pool is accessible for tourists to swim, while the other half is encircled by jungle, slippery rock beds, and lush green plants.

The path to Saut Mathurine is through a ravine, and once the water cascades from the La Selle Mountains, it follows the ravine through the forest full of exotic birds and a wide range of flora. During the dry summer months, the flow of the Cavaillon river reduces, and thus the waterfall also dries up. During the rainy season, tourists can fully enjoy the picturesque scenery of this region, which is ideal for photography. If you want to reach the waterfall's top, follow the side track and enjoy the beautiful view of the fall. Hear the crashing sound of the waterfall from quite a distance. The waterfall has an entrance through a park. The road to Saut Mathurine is offbeat, and you can hire 4X4 vehicles with experienced drivers for a hassle-free journey.
