Located in Ghornola, 3 km northwest of Bir, the Dharmalaya Institute is an eco-campus where one can volunteer for a number of environmental programmes such as organic farming, sustainable village development, green building etc. Courses for a number of recreational activities like meditation and yoga are also offered here.
One can stay here for long term programmes as well as participate in a shorter workshop. The institute prides itself on its compassionate code of conduct that is expected to be followed by guests and visitors. Nestled deep in the forest for good reason, Dharmalaya Institute prefers staying undisturbed. Visitors should make prior appointments before visiting the institute. The institute is also an organic, vegan institution where any animal-derived foods, junk food or plastic-packaged foods are prohibited.
