Visit This Temple in Rajasthan to Capture Views of ‘India’s Grand Canyon’

Situated amidst the towering cliffs of Aravalli Mountain Range, Garadia Temple near Kota is one of the underrated tourist attractions in the region. Since the place is located around kilometres in isolation on National Highway 76, it makes the road less travelled amongst tourists. Apart from the magnificent temple, Garadia Mahadev Temple allows you to capture some spectacular views of river Chambal as well.

Why This Temple Is a Visual Treat

Appearing no less than a fresco painted by nature itself, the view of the crystal blue Chambal waters is a mesmerising sight! Since the place remains unfrequented due to its location, you can even set up an early morning picnic on the cliffs of Garadia Mahadev Temple.

Relax and feast your eyes with the breathtaking views of the Chambal river's horseshoe bend in the distance.

How to Reach

Roadways
The safest and the most convenient mode of travelling to and from Garadia Mahadev Temple is via roads. You may either book a personal taxi or rickshaw from Kota city to visit the place. The travel charges are usually around INR 700 to INR 1000.

Via Public Transport
Travelling via state transport buses is specifically not recommended as it will drop you at the National Highway. You would have to walk henceforth as there are no vehicles around to ask for a lift.

Tips

  • Since the place is completely isolated, it is advised to tag along with a local.
  • Avoid offering food items to the monkeys at the temple as they can get violent at times.
  • Wear quality and comfortable shoes to avoid accidents, especially along slippery rocks.
