Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Dehradun/Haridwar – Transfer to Janki Chatti

Arrive at Dehradun Airport or Haridwar Railway Station, where our representative will greet you.
Drive through scenic roads to Janki Chatti, the base for the Yamunotri trek.
Spiritual Significance: Janki Chatti is named after Goddess Sita (Janki) and serves as a serene starting point for the Yamunotri pilgrimage.
En route, admire the beauty of the Himalayan foothills and stop for refreshments.
Check in to your hotel upon arrival and rest for the night.
Meals: Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Janki Chatti

Day 2 Janki Chatti – Yamunotri Darshan – Return to Janki Chatti

After breakfast, embark on a 6 km trek to Yamunotri Temple. Options for palki, pony, or doli are available (at an extra cost).
Spiritual Significance: Yamunotri is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, the sister of Yama (the God of Death). Bathing in the sacred waters is believed to absolve sins and protect devotees from untimely death.
Visit Surya Kund, a hot water spring where devotees cook rice and potatoes as prasad.
Offer prayers at Divya Shila, a rock pillar near the temple.
Return to Janki Chatti for an overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Janki Chatti.

Day 3 Janki Chatti – Gangotri

Depart for Gangotri, passing through Barkot, Uttarkashi, and the picturesque Harsil Valley.
En route, stop at Prakateshwar Cave, a naturally formed limestone cave revered by pilgrims.
Spiritual Significance: Gangotri is the origin of the holy River Ganga, believed to cleanse the soul of all sins. According to Hindu mythology, King Bhagirath meditated here to bring the Ganga down to Earth.
Arrive at Gangotri, check in to your hotel, and relax for the evening.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Gangotri.

Day 4 Gangotri Darshan

Visit Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The temple, surrounded by snow-clad peaks, offers a divine ambiance for prayer.
Take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi River, believed to purify the soul.
Explore Pandav Gufa, where the Pandavas are said to have meditated during their journey to Kailash.
Spend the evening soaking in the spiritual energy of Gangotri.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Gangotri.

Day 5 Gangotri – New Tehri – Guptkashi

Drive towards Guptkashi, stopping at New Tehri to admire the Tehri Dam, a feat of modern engineering surrounded by serene landscapes.
Spiritual Significance: Guptkashi, home to the Vishwanath Temple, is linked to the Mahabharata. It is believed that Lord Shiva hid here to avoid the Pandavas.
Arrive at Guptkashi, check in to your hotel, and rest.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Guptkashi.

Day 6 Guptkashi – Gaurikund – Kedarnath

Depart for Gaurikund, the base for the Kedarnath trek. Gaurikund, named after Goddess Parvati, is believed to be where she performed penance to win Lord Shiva’s love.
Trek 16 km to Kedarnath Temple. Pony, palki, or helicopter services are available (at an extra cost).
Spiritual Significance: Kedarnath is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and holds immense significance in Hindu mythology. It is said that the Pandavas built the original temple to seek Lord Shiva’s forgiveness.
Attend the evening Aarti, surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Guesthouse/Dormitory in Kedarnath.

Day 7 Kedarnath Darshan – Gaurikund – Tilwara

Begin your day with an early morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple.
Trek back to Gaurikund and drive to Tilwara, a peaceful riverside location near Rudraprayag.
Spiritual Significance: Rudraprayag is the confluence of the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers, a sacred site where Lord Shiva is believed to have appeared in his Rudra form.
Arrive in Tilwara and relax at your hotel.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Tilwara.

Day 8 Tilwara – Joshimath – Badrinath

Drive to Badrinath, stopping at Joshimath, where Adi Shankaracharya meditated.
Visit Narsingh Temple, the winter seat of Lord Badri.
Arrive in Badrinath and check in to your hotel.
Spiritual Significance: Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is a key part of the Char Dham circuit. It is believed that Lord Vishnu meditated here while Goddess Lakshmi took the form of a Badri tree to shield him.
Attend the evening Aarti at the temple.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Badrinath.

Day 9 Badrinath – Mana Village – Joshimath

Wake up early for morning darshan at Badrinath Temple.
Visit nearby attractions:
Mana Village, the last Indian village, featuring Vyas Gufa and Ganesh Gufa.
Brahma Kapal, where devotees perform ancestral rites.
Drive back to Joshimath and relax.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.
Stay: Hotel in Joshimath.

Day 10 Kaleshwar – Rishikesh – Departure

Begin your journey back to Rishikesh.
Stop at Kaleshwar Temple, an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, near Rudraprayag.
Arrive in Rishikesh, the land of ashrams and the sacred Ganga.
Drop off at Rishikesh/Dehradun for your onward journey.

Resort and hotel suggestions to suit my budget and strategically selected closer to places of interest was truly 5 star service from the agent. My solo trip was made safe and comfortable. Great sugge (Read More)stions were made to choose places to visit to make the trip fun, enjoyable and memorable. This awesome trip in a very long time was fun and refreshing. The paradise in Kerala will transcend your soul to haven. People are welcoming and friendly. I recommend Varkala tranquil beeches and Kovalam backwaters for the ultimate fun experience. Gods Own Country’s Kitchen is recommended for some great food and live music on the Varkala cliff point. If south temple architecture peeks your interest, then there are a few gems from ancient times hidden here to explore maintaining sanctity and faith in true form. Solo travellers pay couples rate which can be heavy on the purse. South India need to warm up to the idea that solo traveller numbers are increasing, male and female alike and in all age groups. Not only the cost of travel but people’s outlook need to change. Most of the temples here are only for believers in faith. Kanyakumari was crowded during the Diwali break. The seashore here is only to soak in the view. Thiruvananthapuram Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple darshan was divine however fleeting it maybe, but the mandapa which adorns the beautiful sculptures is out of bounds for devotees. The Garbhagudi could be well lit, so the devotees can properly catch a glimpse of the lord and be blessed. Since architecture is out of bounds recommend special entry for swift darshan.
