Feast for the eyes, good dining under open sky, but dont expect modern conveniences

Beautiful building, well preserved antiquities, large garden restaurant. Everything seems very clean and tidy.

One of the rooms had multiple issues, so we had to change the room. The bed was very broad but somewhat too short. Its an old building boasting original furniture, so dont expect bouncy mattresses or a massage showerhead!

Never going back nor recommending this to anyone

The architecture from outside was great.

Faulty fans, no on call laundry service, hard as rock pillows. Smell of starch on the bedsheet and the floor smelt of chemicals. The staff response to this was unhinged and they did not care if we wanted to complain or not. Way too noisy in the day time and the ground staff were the ones who were making noise.

the location is very nice, immerse in the green. room is comfortable: we had to work so we wanted a bit more space than the normal rooms. we enjoyed the bath tub - pretty rare in India! during the flight my bag got wet amand the stuff helped me drying my clothes!

if we had a kettle to boil water it would have been amazing. but we finally managed to communicate it to the staff and we had hot water served to the room when needed.

Superb

Location is ideal. The palace is beautiful. The restaurant ambience is great. The Food can be better. Malgudi cafe inside the hotel offers some excellent coffee and cakes. Rooms are nice!

Bathroom lacks ventilation and also has smell emanating from the drains. The drain exhaust needs to be checked and managed. Need better breakfast options when we pay a premium.

Could have been better if the hotel gave basic facilities

The property isnt maintained at all . Its quite dirty and no housekeeping services. Basic amenities like water and tea kettle are missing . Staff never shows up for cleaning, even common areas arent cleaned. No breakfast options to order . We had to step out everyday . Not suitable for families especially with kids and senior citizens. Most of the other guests I saw were just doing transit for a night , May be that wouldve been the best thing to do for us rather than staying for 3 nights . For every complain we made they only had one excuse that this is a heritage property, so I believe the cobwebs are also part of the experience

Beautiful property, terribly maintained, hugely overpriced

The staff is doing a stellar job of trying to make up for the downsides of a property that could do with a major renovation. And the hotel grounds are fabulous. Suggest you go for a drink and dinner to enjoy the outdoor space- avoid staying here.

Hugely overpriced for the product on offer. Understand it is a heritage property and flat screen TVs and modern gadgetry is not part of what they offer. But dust from the ceiling dropping on your head,pillows and mattress while you sleep is not acceptable. Nor is mold on the walls, exposed electrical wiring on the lamps, and torn screen doors on the windows. Clearly the management is trying to maximise profits - the rooms were ridiculously overpriced for the facilities on offer - even accounting for the Dasara rush - without investing in making the rooms even barely usable.

Overpriced stay

The ambience and the room was good.

1. The sheets were smelly. 2. It was booked for a suite. But in the room I had 2 single beds. 3. It was noisy at night as the restaurant was closer to the room window. 4. Room confirmation - no calls/messages were there from the hotel for confirmation on the hotel booking but when we were about to checkout I received a call from reception stating it's time to checkout.
