Our room was well below what we have come to expect from Spices resorts. There was rubbish in the cupboard from the previous guests. The teapot lid was broken. Bathroom vanity handles were broken or very loose. The iron had been packed away and full of dirty water ready for the next unsuspecting guest. Glass cloche and plate were left in our room dirty for 3 days.
Room.1 Shares the balcony with the kitchen & bar. Therefore there was absolutely no privacy or quiet times throughout our 3 nights. Then there was the noise coming from the rooftop cocktail bar Saturday which didn't ease up until midnight.
During breakfast I had to go and ask at the bar for another coffee which was very annoying because when our breakfast was placed on our table my coffee cup was already empty. Both times we ate at the restaurant over the weekend there were only 2 couples dining in.
Dinner Sunday night was very underwhelming even got the idea from staff that Sunday menu was basic. The waitstaff were hanging around our table and constantly chatting with us and making small talk not allowing us the quality time together.
I was asked 3 times in the booking and confirmation process "was our weekend celebrating a special occasion", to which I answered "yes" 25th Wedding anniversary. To be honest I had expected some sort of special gesture to help us celebrate. I had received generous gifts and treats at 2 other Spicers restaurants and resorts in the past.
